新年快乐!祝你们幸福和健康。

Happy Chinese new year! Wishing you happiness and health in 2020!

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of arranging objects within space to enhance energy flow and improve different areas of your life.

On Friday, we officially entered the Chinese year of 2020 - the year of the Metal Rat!

With a new year comes changes to the energy in every space and all around us. One of the biggest changes in Feng Shui terms, is the movement of the Annual Flying Stars.

Flying Stars are an integral part of Traditional Chinese Feng Shui. They are energies (some positive and some negative) that move around the space at certain times; monthly, annually and periodically (every 20 years).

With every movement comes a shift in energy and in luck. Fortunately, these energies move in patterns so these shifts can be predicted and we can stay one step ahead in determining our luck.

When positive Flying Star energies are harnessed and enhanced, we can reap many benefits. This can include increased wealth and prosperity, excellent health, happy relationships, personal and professional success and more.

Conversely, if negative Flying Star energies are left unattended and without remedy, they can wreak havoc on our lives! This can manifest in problems with health, lawsuits, severe illnesses, massive loss of wealth, relationship issues...you get it.

Although Chinese New Year is celebrated on a different day each year, the official date of change for the Feng Shui Annual Flying Stars is the 4th of February. So that means there is still time to put remedies in place to set yourself up to get the best out of the year ahead!

Each time the Annual Flying Stars move, this is a universal and worldwide event. These shifts occur in every house, office and building and affect everyone inhabiting or working in these spaces.

Below is information on each Annual Flying Star, what they each do, where they sit in 2020 and tips for enhancing or remedying the effects of each star. There is a fair amount of information, so take your time and reach out with any questions.

While Feng Shui can produce immediate effects, it is also designed to benefit you in the long-run and support you long-term. Feng Shui is designed to create a space that supports you in achieving your goals. It alone may not magically give you a "perfect" life, however, applying Feng Shui will create a space that is conducive to positive changes, new opportunities, increased prosperity, love and good health.

If you want advice on Flying Stars please feel free to get in touch. Flying Stars can have a major impact on our livelihood and wellbeing. Applications of Flying Star Feng Shui can be very intricate and complex and there are many elements to consider. They are taken very seriously in Traditional Chinese Feng Shui and a Feng shui Master Practitioner should be consulted to locate and enhance or remedy these powerful energies correctly.

Annual Flying Star Analysis 2020

Analysing the Flying Stars takes many factors and Feng Shui principles into account.

Each sector of the Bagua (compass direction) AND each Flying Star have corresponding numbers, elements, shapes, colours, body parts, family members, seasons...the list goes on!

The individual relationship between all of these must be analysed carefully while bearing in mind also the constructive, destructive and exhaustive cycles of the 5 Elements.

Don't let that overwhelm you, it's just an explanation for how it all works! You don't have to do that part, it's already done for you!

As mentioned above, the Period Flying Stars move every 20 years, with the beginning of a new "Period". Currently, we are in Period 8 (2004-2024). Certain stars are auspicious during certain periods and in certain years and others are inauspicious.

Currently, the auspicious (lucky) Flying Stars are numbers 1, 4, 6, 8 and 9. The rest are considered inauspicious (unlucky) during this period.

This article focuses on the Annual Flying Stars and does not go into detail about the Period and Monthly Flying Stars. The table above shows the positions of the Annual Flying Stars in 2020 from the 4th of February.

The 1 White Opportunity Star

In Feng Shui, the number 1 corresponds to career, life path and opportunities. It also embodies the Element of Water. The same goes for the #1 White Opportunity Star.

This is an auspicious star that can bring new opportunities for career and wealth generation.

On February 4th in 2020, the 1 Star "flies" into the North East, which is the Skills, Knowledge, Wisdom and Spirituality sector, meaning 2020 is a good year to pursue or begin new study opportunities, especially for the youngest and/or middle son of the family.

As mentioned above, the 1 Star embodies the Water Element.

The supporting Element of the North East is Earth.

In Feng Shui, Water and Earth clash, as Earth dams Water so this combination is one that needs some remedying. We want to balance the Earth energy to support this sector while also enhancing the Water Element to maximise on the benefits of the 1 Star. The addition of the Metal Element can help us achieve this, although we don't want to go too overboard with metal here.

Adding water, as well as colours that represent water (black and blue) will be beneficial and some small metal items or colours like white, grey and silver.

Enhancers and Remedies for the North East in 2020:

  •

Metal Element (white, grey, silver, metal objects)

  •

Water Element (water feature, glass, mirror(s), black, blue, undulating shapes, pictures / artworks of water)

  •

    Brass Wu Luo (optional enhancer)

  •

FuXi Dual Dragon Bell (optional enhancer)

  •

Avoid the Wood Element (greens, browns, plants, wooden objects)

  •

Avoid the Fire Element (candles, red, fire, pointy or triangular shapes)

The 2 Black Illness Star

The 2 Star is an inauspicious star in Period 8. It is associated with health, financial and relationship problems.

As opposed to the 5 Yellow Catastrophe Star (discussed later), the 2 Black Illness Star generally results in smaller injuries or illnesses, such as paper cuts, a cold or flu or allergies, rather than major health problems.

Unfortunately though, its energy is very strong in 2020, emphasising its effect. Those most at risk are likely women and the middle daughter, although its energy will affect everyone. People with a Kua number of 4 will also more affected by the 2 Star.

This year, the 2 Star will sit in the South - the Fame, Reputation, Success and Status sector. This may cause challenges within the professional realm as well relating to business finances and professional business relationships / partnerships. Sadly the #2 Star is not alone in the South either, accompanied by annual afflictions The Three Killings and Sui Po (Year Breaker).

***The Three Killings does NOT mean death or killing!!!*** Just thought I would make that clear.

The Three Killings represents challenges that you may face, so it is auspicious and beneficial to face the South this year, in order to see what is coming your way and to be able to address challenges head on.

It is NOT auspicious, however and should MOST DEFINITELY BE AVOIDED to dig in the South or renovate this area!! This is a BIG NO NO in 2020, as it will anger the Sui Po and The Three Killings, causing them to unleash their wrath! (I wanted to make that sound really dramatic), but in all seriousness, DO NOT DISTURB THIS AREA!

Avoid renovations, digging, loud noises (slamming doors) and major activity in this sector.

Are you scared yet? Wait until we get to the #5 Star! I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

Let's look at the remedies for the South this year!

Enhancers and Remedies for the South in 2020:

  •

Salt Water Cure (Highly recommended click here)

  •

Add a Wen Chang pagoda (traditional 9-tier tower) (recommended)

  •

Enhance this area with the Wood Element (green, brown, plants, wooden objects)

  •

    Add crystals

  •

Avoid adding too much of the Fire Element (use the Wood Element instead) Side Note: Although the Element for the South is Fire, the Fire Element will inflame the Earth Element of the 2 Star. Best to use the Wood Element here to destroy the Earth and fuel the Fire.

  •

Metal Element can also be added sparingly (white, grey, silver, metal items)

  •

    5-rod wind chime (recommended)

  •

Address any health issues quickly, especially relating to heart, eyes, stomach or female organs

  •

Avoid digging, renovating or disturbing this area (including loud noises)
